I have trouble even finding words to describe this laptop. Beautiful, sleek, powerful & truely plays games very well! Looks like a stealth aircraft & built like a container! I purchased this laptop computer to play Battlefield 3 & Skyrim (when it comes out), never seeing a laptop computer play graphically intense games or a gaming desktop, I was doubtful. But after loading BF3 & firing it up, those doubts disappeared instantaneously! The auto graphic settings within the game set everything to help ultra & high & plays at those levels without a glitch. Come on Skyrim!
I did plenty involving research & comparisons between this & other Asus g74, g73 & g53 models & the DH73-3D model won out, even despite its price tag. All the issues that other models have had have been fixed on this model. I keep trying to discover a con or issue with this particular laptop but haven’ t yet other then a 3D mode switch close to the power switch solely switched between different power modes until I did the 203 BIOs update(that has been easy as pie, lol). This fixed the button to behave only as a switch to turn on or off the 3D & switching between different power modes is actually controlled by the purpose btn & space bar. Have I mentioned this specific laptop is freaking Lovely!!! 120hz Screen is WHOA!!!! Worth the price difference on the models without it.
The 3D is remarkable & works so effortlessly. I purchased a 3D Blu-ray to try out the 3D movie feature, beautiful. Just pop it inside & put on your glasses & enjoy. Gaming in 3D also is really amazing, cool & has brought life to some of my older online games like CounterStrike Source. The first time I started CSS with this laptop (and haven’ t adjusted any adjustments yet), the game started & it was playing inside 3D, talk about taking a vintage game & turning it into a fresh one. I didn’ t even know CSS may very well be played in 3D. Can’ t wait to check it out with other games. Amazing!
I really like the included gaming mouse, in fact I happen to be using it instead involving my Logitech G700, it reminds me use many of the older Logitech MX games mice. Didn’ t find much involving any bloat-ware. If you are going to reload OS, at least start that up & do the online enrollment & don’ t forget to mail within your warranty card asap likewise. Sound is loud & clear. When I plug within my headphones, it only gets better.
The cooling truely is usually amazing, after playing BF3 for a few hours & then stopping, the air coming outside the back cools off inside minutes showing how well it dissapates heat & runs cool.
I have always (more than 15yrs) used Asus any time building gaming desktops & pc’ s & have never been let down, & this laptop just confirmed that Asus is the best.
This thing is large & heavy but to me personally, both of those words mean badass. This thing blows absent my gtx/quad-core desktop. Go sit next to your Mac user with this specific laptop & you will see these individuals start changing there brain about pc’ s.
In short, this Laptop is worth it & once I add my personal new SSD, I don’ t think I may very well be any happier with a new laptop. If you want the best, this is it! Do it, join us, the Republic (involving Gamers) wants you!

Skyrim runs flawlessly with this computer, auto-detect sets the visuals to ultra settings & playing it in 3D is even more awesome.
Added SSD drive, So now its perhaps quicker & a little lighter, worth the upgrade.

The computer is fast, the screen is good, & the sound is wonderful. My issue is with how big the computer, the additional software on my computer & the keyboard. First, the keyboard is a pain for getting use to but My partner and i knew that by examining reviews before I bought it. I don’ t plan on with all the laptop to write a book i really won’ t complain about it excessive. The software that is sold with the computer is a pain because a lot of it is worthless. Again, I knew this from reviews i really won’ t complain too very much now. I will however complain around the size. I purchased a sixteen inch Toshiha Satellite for my partner & it was too big personally. So, when I decided to obtain a new laptop for me, I knew I wanted a 15. 6 inch. Well, the body of the Asus is bigger than my wife’ s 16 inch Toshiba even so the screen is smaller. I was expecting the whole laptop to be smaller besides the screen. It is a fight to fit it in my computer backpack & it is heavy because of the size. Again, I wouldn’ t suggest that individuals not purchase it because this is a nice computer for the retail price. Acer Aspire TimelineX AS3830T-6417 This Acer AS3830T-6417 laptop is best laptop I have received, period. I have to declare, I had my skepticism in the direction of an Acer laptop but boy was I wrong after applying this for 2 months! I have had IBM Thinkpads (T60), Lenovo Thinkpad (R61i), Dell (Latitude C600, D620, etc.) in the previous but while Thinkpads were solidly built, this Acer one is best in the following groups:
1. Design: Elegant, thin & lightweight, Very nice / exclusive Cobalt Blue color
2. Performance vs. Power consumption: Intel Core i3 model 4GB RAM with regard to Fast work & multi-tasking (I can simply open 9 – 10 applications running at same time period including 7 – 10 MILLISECONDS Word PPT Excel spreadsheets PDF data EACH, & it still runs GREAT!). Battery Life? It lasts 4 hours easily even as of this harsh multi-tasking environment! In normal conditions, it’ d probably last Acer’ s stated 6 hours.
3. Awesome Audio: Dolby Home Theater technique embedded
4. NO NOISE! CPU Fan rarely runs, if ever, so this baby is Quiet being a Baby in sleep constantly!
5. USB 3. 0 port x 1 UNIVERSAL SERIES BUS 2. 0 ports x 2: Future-proof! USB 3. 0 port is backward suitable for USB 2. 0.
6. Keyboard: Nice button feel, not too high, not to low, nothing sticks. The Page Up / Down / End buttons are spelled out vertically at the right end the bit awkward but you get used to it quickly.
7. Connectivity: WiFi 802. 11a/b/g Bluetooth 3. 0 Ethernet slot — what else do you require? Very easy connection utilizing Windows 7 control (no third party control center crap)
8. Multi-touch: Touchpad supports multi-touch, i. e. use 2 fingers to be able to augment or reduce internet site / display sizes like when using iPhone. Now, the touchpad DOES exhausted quickly, I’ d warn you — after 3 weeks of usage, I can see your cobalt blue resin flushing apart — it looks shiny inside central circular area where by I touch & drag the most.
CONS:
1) The simply thing it’ s lacking is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive which i don’ t use at all anyway (who does these days?) & I already have an external USB DVD/CD burner.
2) I do hate the reflective Glare 16: 9 LCD Display but I came across that only a small number < 5% of the notebooks today carry the previous 4: 3 Matte (Anti-Glare) displays which i thought was frustrating & wierd but you get use to that too, & you can find anti-glare handles easily on eBay should you really hate the glare.
3) The top cover edges are razor-sharp, so the cover lid corners do get nicked out easily
4) Specification on the handset Stickers (labels) next to the touchpad are permanent but have a tendency to " wrinkle/slide off" when my hand rests on top for years. It looks wrinkly today but I don’ t think I may rip it out w/o rendering it more messy.
AND, here’ s the final disregard: Guess how much I covered this baby? $343. 99 SHIPPED! I purchased it on 8/30/11 when it had been on special promo price cut with Acer giving 20% away from on all laptops, plus Amazon giving added in discount Free Shipment for pre-ordering (rule), plus I signed up for Amazon Business Visa greeting card for add’ l $40 Off, rounding out to $343. 99 Delivered, WHAT A DEAL!!!

Samsung NP900X3A-B01 13.3-Inch Notebook – Black This machine is full of terrific features. It boots incredibly rapidly, the display is remarkable, & the keyboard response is usually wonderful. The touchpad did take some used to, but wasn’ t a big cope.
However, I cannot recommend this piece of equipment for one reason: the blasted power cord doesn’ t attach firmly to the laptop. When I pick in the laptop, it falls out. When I move the actual laptop, it falls out. When I close the actual lid, it falls out. Sometimes it just falls out for no obvious reason. Worse, sometimes it doesn’ t fall all the way in which out, but it just sort of hangs there, not charging the battery pack. This is especially annoying, since there are no indicators which the machine is charging when the lid is closed. Thus, I have closed the actual lid, the power cord provides jiggled & disconnected, & the next morning my own laptop isn’ t fully charged.
This is incredibly bad design inside a machine that is usually superb.

HP ENVY 14-2020NR I have owned more than 4 hp laptops/computers in the last.. 2-3 months. They keep breaking & this was the previous chance that I would definitely give HP. Upon receiving the product inside the mail, I was astonished through its beautiful packaging. I looked for every little problem about this laptop like I experienced on my other HP’ s. After having it for any month now, I am simply surprised. This laptop is dependable & problem free! What I really like about this laptop is the computer keyboard, sound quality, build quality, webcam, performance, & it’ s touch pad. There are a several problems though, the screen resolution is really a bit low for the cost (1366×768), and the battery lasts me the average 2 hours 40 a few minutes on HP recommended. Also the laptop speakers are not great, they are just your own regular laptop speakers, but that all changes after you plug speakers or headphones into your headphone jack. The sound quality & the bass feels very very good! Overall this laptop is actually amazing & I definitely recommend that! (Not to folks who travel a lot though). » Read more..
